| Dear All,
Many thanks for your Christmas card and your
invitation to send you photographs of a Protech Conservatory.
I enclose some photo’s for you and
hope you like them, what is probably not important to you but very
satisfying to me is that all the front garden at Bellavista which
is just finished last month after two years work was done by myself
with no help.
I am 70 years of age and fit, I am “retired”
but not tired..! I was the chairman of two plastic factories until
I had three heart attacks and three heart operations including a
treble by pass which regrettably caused some minor delays in my
work schedule, and thankfully not the undertakers. I have never
laid brickes before, or concrete blocks, or concrete foundations,
or laid paths, or patio’s with balustrades. But I have always
believed anybody can do anything if they put there mind to it, nothing
was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
Having said that, I don’t think you should sell your conservatories
(I erected that myself too) implying that even a 70-year-old great
granddad can do it.
I use the conservatory now to do the things
I like doing - I engrave glass, sculpture terracotta, and most of
all I paint (every one of which are Italian scenes), listen to music
and await the coming of spring.
The greenhouse was delivered in aluminium
uncoated sections to be erected, I decided to paint it hammer finish
white, sounds easy, its not. It caused hellish problems, a simple
bit of advice is – do not apply any primer, undercoat or finish
paint in the extruded section of the profile which eventually holds
the flexible PVC rubber seal.
Thank you for your correspondence and thanks
you for making me do things I have never done before, if you ever
feel like visiting Bellavista in this Shangri La spot of the world
you will be welcome. Spring is wonderful, Summer is unforgettable,
Autumn is just a riot of colour and Winter is phenomenal.
Good luck to you all, thank you again,
Best wishes
Edd and Jean Brown
